Karen & Marty :: Engagement Session

Going through these images I couldn’t help but think how fun Karen and Marty’s wedding is going to be on the 28th. As you scroll down the page you will see exactly what I mean. Also, you will see the location of their wedding, believe me, you can’t miss it (hint: it’s tall, white and has a big light at the top). The more I think back to our engagement session the more I realize HOW MUCH I love interacting with my clients and how much I truly enjoy what I do. Lisa & Jia :: Engagement Session

On Friday I had the pleasure to capture Lisa and Jia’s engagement session at the University of Irvine. It was the first time shooting there for me and I have to say what a cool place to shoot. There were so many options that I couldn’t walk 20 feet without having to stop. I didn’t realize what a cool campus UCI is, it made our engagement session that much easier.

Thank you to Lisa and Jia for making this session so much fun, I had a total blast! I look forward to shooting your wedding in March we will have a great time!

Summer & Ryan :: Engagement Part 2

This past Saturday we were able to finish the engagement session with Summer and Ryan, but this time they brought a little surprise, introducing baby Taylor. He was such a ham from the very first picture I took of him, he absolutely LOVED the camera! In fact the picture of him below was honestly the first shot I took of him, no joke. We had such a blast that day! All we needed was just a little bit of sun and it would have been icing on the cake. All in all, I was pretty stoked about the session and our little exercise as well, lol… sorry everyone for taking you on that little hike through Crystal Cove. It was also a pleasure to have the assistance off my girl Heather, and the presence of Summer’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Moseley. Here are some pics and a little slideshow (I apologize for the same music).

Summer & Ryan – Engagement Part 1

2nd time is a charm in this case…For those that have not been following our first attempt to take Engagement photos got rained out so this past Saturday we attempted no.2. Good thing we decided on Saturday, it turned out to be a beautiful sunny and warm day in Venice Beach.

Before I continue with the shoot, just a little something about the couple. Summer and Ryan happen to be good friends of ours, actually Heather and Summer go pretty far back, if I’m not mistaken I think they knew each other in High School. In fact I think Summer’s older sister and Heather were in the same grade. Well needless to say we have known Summer and Ryan since they first met around two years ago. I am super stoked they are getting married this June, I can’t wait! They also have a beautiful baby boy named Taylor (he will be in part 2).

I have to thank Summer and Ryan for deciding to use me as their photographer, I am very honored and look forward to making your day last forever. It was really a surprise when I got the call from Summer, when we saw them at Agua Caliente for Heather’s birthday I was under the impression they already decided on a photographer for their wedding. Not really thinking about it I gave them my card just so they could check out my new blog. I had maybe a handful of pictures on there so it really was a suprise when she told me that she loved my style and that she was going to cancel the photographer that she has been talking to and use me. I can remember the call like I just got off the phone 2 mins ago. I have been on cloud 9 ever since. Thank you!!!!

As we get closer to the date we have agreed on a two part engagement shoot. On Saturday we decided to meet the couple at Venice Beach. Great idea, but man was it packed with people. We still managed to get some pretty good shots, check em out…

Couple shoot @ Huntington Beach March 24th

What’s up with the wind? Seriously? Such a beautiful day at the beach then you throw wind in the equation that = a very difficult shoot. But of course like anything else I had to adapt and deal with the playing field. Besides the wind factor I was stoked to shoot in HB again, not that I want to use the same locations all the time, but I was looking forward to shooting a couple there this time. When my couple said they live in HB I thought that would only be fitting to have our session there, plus being Tuesday it was the Farmers Market so there was a lot of activity.

As I was saying my couple is from HB, they met there about 2.5 years ago and now they are engaged and are getting married in November in Santa Barbara. Congratulations to Maliny and Josh I am stoked for you two! I have to say these two had so much patience, having to deal with the wind is harder than you think. What was cool about the session was the fact that it felt like we were already friends, I felt like we clicked so quickly. Seriously it was like I was just shooting one of my couple friends. Thank you guys for being so laid back and cool to work with, I look forward to hopefully working with you guys again! BTW Thank you again for the beer and tacos!
