Going on 10 years…

With my contract with Sprint ending in December I had some major phone issues ahead of me. What was I going to do? Well, most of you know I am a big advocate of Apple products, simply because they just work and look cool at the same time. For about 2 years now I have been waiting for my contract with Sprint to end so I could buy the iPhone and now the time has come.  After a ton of research I was dead set on the iPhone UNTIL it came down to the phone plans, how much per month was this going to cost me? Data plans this, text message that? Seriously, with 2 iPhones and 2 regular lines that was going to cost me a grip of money per month, plus crappy service, HOLD ON I said.  So I headed to the Sprint store to get some of my questions answered.

Low and behold Sprint just introduced 2 new Andriod phones by Google within the past month or so. I saw one I sort of liked, talked with my awesome salesperson Jessica about phone plans then I was off to the internet to do my research. OK, after watching numerous videos and visiting many sites I was sold on the HTC Hero Andriod phone with Google. I walked back into to see Jessica the next day to get more details regarding the phone plans and just like that she sold me on 2 things, 1) HOW MUCH money I will be saving per month 2) offering way more options at the same time. I was SOLD 7 days before my contract was going to expire.

So, I am stoked to say that I have finally jumped back into the whole smart phone era and picked Heather and I up both an HTC Hero. This phone is phenomenal, it does everything that an iPhone does, but in my opinion better. Granted it doesn’t connect with iTunes, but for how much money I’m saving I really don’t care. A few things I love is the customization this phone offers, the Android platform (Google), the size and feel, the brilliant screen, the ease of use and finally how much money it is saving me. Just to give you an idea of how much it’s saving me. Without all the details I will be saving $70 per month by using Sprint (since they offer AAA discount off my monthly bill) multiply that by 24 months (2 year contract) that is a saving of $1680 over 2 years for way better service and more options at the same time. I mean seriously, with that money right there I can buy me a 50mm 1.2 lens for my camera. That’s just unreal, so this year will mark my 10th year with Sprint and I have to say I am so happy that I signed back up. Oh BTW the phones were even less expensive so I saved there too. So until the iPhone switches to a better provider I’m sticking with Sprint!

You could have went with T-Mobile and paid nothing for the phone and pay $80/ month and add a line for $10 more and have unlimited talk, web and text. It’s not to late to change. Just a thought. Plus it’s an international phone and the cheapest way to travel when roaming out of the states. In addition, download times are 10 seconds faster. Just some food for thought. Enjoy.
