Opening night @ The Newport Beach Film Fest

What a very cool experience that was for me. Now I know what it’s like to be a photographer at a Red Carpet event. Jocking for position to get the right shot, tons of flashes going off and a people yelling to get the persons attention (including myself) I have to say I would not like to make a career out of that type of photography, but it was definitely worth experiencing.

So the night turned out to be a success, I arrived there early to try secure my spot come to find out this year they mixed the photographers with the video people and they made the Red Carpet like 10ft it was kind of ridiculous. Fitting a bunch a people looking to get interviews with people trying to get a pictures = lame! Oh well we all managed to get through it. It was very interesting getting to meet other photographers with other publications, Daily Pilot, OC Register, OC Weekly just to name a few. The shoot went good being that was my first time an all with all the lights and flashes going off I’m thinking I came out with some decent shots. I bet your wondering who was there? To be honest not that many stars were there in fact the ones that were there were not mainstream. The most well known was probably McG, he is currently on the cover of Fast Company Magazine this month, he is the director of the movie Terminator Salvation, they call him Hollywood’s Rogue Mogul.

We were all invited in to view the movie Lymelife, but I decided not to go although I wanted to. Instead I met up with some of the peeps from Live OC Mag and we decided to go to the after party that Live OC was putting on at Port, a restaurant in Corona Del Mar. The party was fun, super crowded, I took some pics ate some food, mingled then I went back to Gala in Fashion Island to see if I could get more pics. The Gala was basically the opening night party, there was tons of food, drinks and entertainment with Cirque Du Soleil Zumanity and a fashion show. I got there a little late, but I still managed to get some shots and experience the good food and of course the deserts (Pinkberry).

I look forward to attending more nights at the Film Festival since my Press Pass gives me full access all week. SWEET! Be sure to visit Live OC Mag’s website to see all my pics www.liveocmag.com

For now here’s your boy (Crap I have to get rid of that double chin!)
