After such a beautiful day on Sunday I thought for sure my morning session was going to be just as beautiful, well that would have be just too easy. So instead I shot on a cold and overcast morning which I guess turned out to be ok. I will give my model major props for dealing with the cold and wet situations I put her in.
So I was fortunate enough to work with two very cool people during my first photo shoot on Monday. My model was great her name is Cherish and she happens to be the Leader for the Xtreme Girls LA/OC, I didn’t realize it but what they offer is freaking cool, you call up the Xtreme girls if you want your club to be off the hook, they promote, they dance they basically make things happen. Anyway she was totally easy to work with and I was stoked that she was my first my model. She also brought along her makeup artist/friend/photo director named Alicia, she was great to work with as well, she was very creative and helped Cherish and I with almost every pose. If you want someone cool to do your makeup I recommend her, she does excellent work along with a great attitude. Link to follow…
My first shoot…Overall I would say it went better than I expected, I was really nervous at first but quickly felt at easy as soon as I started firing away. This task of taking portraits was a little out of my little comfort zone being that I really like taking Photojournalism type shots, but ya know what I have to say I love it! Since Monday I have already been on 3 other photo shoots (those will follow) and I have to say now I am so much more at ease with direction. But anyway the HB shoot went great, speaking for myself I had so much fun walking around looking for cool places to shoot. As you will see in the photos we did a good job moving around Main St. I look forward to the day where I will start earning money for something I am so passionate about. I have added a few pictures from the shoot, the rest will be posted once I am finished editing them.
